Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state says he will not tolerate any form of corruption from the newly elected chairmen of the local government and local council development areas in the state.
Amosun issuing the warning after inaugurating the 57 chairmen in Abeokuta, asked them to account for every kobo allocated to them by his administration.
The event was attended by the speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi, members of the State Executive Council, the State Chief Judge, Justice Olatokunbo Olopade, Vice Chairman of all progressives congress party in Ogun State, APC leaders, including National Financial Secretary, Alhaji Tajudeen Bello, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, the Ajalorun of Ijebu-Ife, Oba Adesesan Ogunkoya and other traditional rulers.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Chief Judge, Justice Olatokunbo Olopade, has asked members of the newly inaugurated tribunal to handle petitions from the State’s Local Government polls to beware of politicians.
The tribunal that will have a three member panel for each of the state’s three senatorial Districts, was set up to handle petitions from the just concluded poll into the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas in the state.
Justice Olatokunbo, who made the call while swearing-in chairmen and members of the tribunal in Abeokuta, asked the tribunal to expect high number of petitions, but urged them to be transparent, upright and fair to all parties that come before it.
The tribunal chairman for the Ogun Central is Mr Olatunde Oyajinmi, with Mr Bola Odeyale and venerable Kunle Fajobi as the members.
For the Ogun East, Mr Abiola Adegoke is the chairman with Mr Ibrahim Atanda and Alhaji Tajudeen Fakorede as members, while Mr Sola Oyefeso is the tribunal chairman for the Ogun West Senatorial District, with Mr Sola Oyewo and Alhaji Tajudeen Adeyemi as members.
