A cancer screening centre set up at the Ogun State Hospital, Abeokuta by Uplift, the pet project of the wife of Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s wife, has been commissioned.

Mrs Olufunso Amosun commissioning the project, said the centre would also be built in the state hospitals in Ota and the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Sagamu.

She said the centre would reduce the rate of maternal death, caused by breast and cervical cancer, through the early detection of the disease.

She asked women within the state and elsewhere to take advantage of the facilities for the routine check and treatment of breast and cervical cancer, instead of yearly free screening exercise.
