Boko Haram fighters Under Seige

Army chief of staff, Leuitenant General Tukur Buratai, says ground troops have blocked Boko Haram fighters from moving in and out of the Sambisa forest in the ongoing major operations which began last week.

He said the presence of troops at Banki Junction is strategic because Boko Haram had been using the route to move between Sambisa forest, northern states, chad and Cameroun.

Buratai, who with the chief of air staff were earlier in Maiduguri where the operation was being coordinated, said major challenges facing troops now engaging Boko Haram fighters in major operation inside Sambisa forest would be tackled
