An elder statesman, Alhaji Balarabe Musa has canvassed for the proposed restructuring of Nigeria federation to be based on regional arrangement.
Balarabe, Former Governor of the old Kaduna State, however, said whatever arrangement Nigerians eventually settle for, must provide for a strong centre.
The Former Governor made the call while speaking on a Rockcity FM programme: ’daybreak show’ in Abeokuta, said a strong federal government would guarantee the unity and security of other federating units.
The proposed regionalism, he argued was the most preferable option to restructure Nigeria because it will promote healthy competition among the federating units, while the power of the centre must be reduced.
Another elder statesman, Chief Ayo Adebanjo said the proposed restructuring of Nigeria is no longer an option for the nation.
