Fighter planes of the Nigeria Airforce have resumed massive attacks on bases of Boko Haram forces in the Sambisa forest in Borno state.
Airforce spokesman, group captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, said several targets, including logistics bases, had been hit by the warplanes in the past one week.
He listed warplanes deployed in the operation were Chinese built F-7NI fighter planes, Franco German Alpha fighter jets, and Russian built MI-24V helicopter gunships.
He said the air attacks aims at paving the way for the advance of troops to the remaining camps of the insurgents in the Sambisa forests.
