AIG asks Ogun home owners to have data on tenants

Abdulmajid Ali

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Abdulmajid Ali, has asked home owners in Ogun state to develop a data base of people residing in them.

The police chief who is the zonal AIG for Ogun and Lagos states, gave the advice while launching an information gathering concept tagged “residents intelligence form” developed by the Obantoko division of the Police Public Relations Committee (PCRC) in Abeokuta.

Ali speaking at the interactive seminal/award presentation organised by the PCRC division, said such data base is now necessary considering the rate of crimes in the Nigerian communities.

Speaking at the event, the Ogun State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Ilyasu, said community policing remains one of the most effective ways of tackling the insecurity in the country.

The Obantoko PCRC Chairman, Honourable Taiwo Akinlabi, said supplying of information to the police by the members of the public would help in reducing the crime rate in their communities.

Rockcity FM was presented with an award of “the best community friendly radio station’ by PCRC.
