The jeep of Senator Iyabo Anisulowo has been found, hours after she was abducted by gunmen on Wednesday night near Igbogila, in the Yewa axis of Ogun State.

The vehicle was recovered at Igankoto, near Imashai, more than three hours after she was abducted.

The coordinator of the vigilance service of Ogun State for the Yewa South, Olaniyan Oluyemi, said they believed the abducted senator had not been taken out of the Yewa axis.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun was given the situation report, during a visit to the farm of the senator at Sawonjo, in the company of the assistant inspector general in-charge of Ogun and Lagos States, the commander of the army 35 artillery brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta, as well as the state police commissioner and the state director of department of security service.

Amosun said hunters and farmers who understood the terrain of the area would join the security operatives, who are tracking the gunmen since Wednesday night.

The coordinator of the vigilance service of Ogun State for the Yewa South, Olaniyan Oluyemi, said they learnt that the gunmen later took her away from the jeep, covered her with cloth and drove her away on a motorcycle
